History
High Elm Archers was originally formed in the late sixty’s, early seventy’s. Two of the main founders of the club were Bill, and Sally Fraser who lived in Elmcroft Road, Hightown. The title of High Elm Archers, was derived from the 'High' in Hightown, and the 'Elm' in Elmcroft where the couple resided. The club disbanded towards the late seventy’s until revived in 1997 by a small group of dedicated Archers, including the late Bill Fraser, who is remembered in the ‘High Elm Bill Fraser Westerns’.
The 'High Elm Bill Fraser Westerns' competition is held annually at our outdoor venue at Altcar Rifle Range, and is very kindly sponsored by Real Holiday Reports.
A percentage of the money raised from these popular competitions is donated towards the funding of the Southport Offshore Rescue Trust.
